With an “head stock and tailstock” clamping system of the workpiece, ICON performs turning, milling, and sanding operations. Furthermore, equipped with a 4-axis spindle and an automatic 12 positions tool changer, ICON enables completing all necessary operations in a single setup without the need of templates.
All the working units of ICON, mounted on a extremely rigid gantry structure, operate along the same vertical direction as the lathe axis and the chip removal conveyor, ensuring better cleanliness and chip collection.
Thanks to the patented gantry structure, the tool setup for operational units is front-facing to the operator, allowing an easier, safer, and quicker setup of tools and sanding belts.
Unique in its application, ICON allows simultaneous processing of two pieces up to a maximum section of 90x90mm, thereby doubling its daily productivity.
For small production batches, ICON features manual loading on self-centering fixtures with automatic positioning to reduce setup times. For larger batches, ICON is equipped with an automatic loader capable of feeding the machine with one or two pieces at a time. When using the automatic loader, the unloading of pieces does not rely on gravity but instead uses automatic unloaders with pneumatic movement.
