100 years of history

Paolino Bacci, the company’s founder, decided to start small-scale production of band saws for the local classic furniture market in Cascina, a small town in the province of Pisa. The machines produced were immediately recognized by the market as high-quality products for their exceptional durability and reliability.

The company began manufacturing specialized machines for the mass production of chair components, an area in which Italy was a world leader at the time. Thanks to technical innovation and the quality of the machines produced, Bacci sold thousands of machines in northeastern Italy, reaching market shares of 80%.

The company's innovative capabilities were confirmed when Bacci became the first Italian company in the sector to win the U.S.A. Challengers Award, a prestigious award presented by the International Woodworking Fair (IWF) in Atlanta.

Bacci Meccanica was founded, and a new facility was built. This separation of mechanical operations from assembly lines allowed for the reorganization of production on an industrial scale.

We built the first 5-axis CNC work center to perform any operation and respond to the growing demand for production flexibility. Versatile machines capable of handling various materials, from wood to plastic to aluminum and composites. From this point forward, 5-axis CNC work centers became the core business of the company.

We were the first company in the world to build 5-axis CNC work centers with dual heads, capable of working simultaneously on the same piece with two operating heads. These advanced machines ensure flexibility and extremely high productivity.

With nearly 80 employees and an increase in orders, the company decided to relocate its production to a new facility next to the Bacci Meccanica plant, optimizing production logistics and reducing delivery times.

Due to the rapid increase in sales in the Chinese market, a technical/commercial branch was established in Dongguan, Guangdong in 2006, the heart of China's furniture production. Bacci China offers technical support and sales in China and neighboring countries.

With the acquisition of 100% of Veneta Macchine, a company specialized in the production of vertical CNC saws for curved cutting and horizontal saws for parquet, Bacci expands its market offer, presenting a complete range of solutions for processing solid wood and more.

Thanks to studies on new applications and technologies driven by the needs of an ever-evolving market, Bacci has patented over 50 unique solutions, confirming its innovative capabilities.

In line with continuous improvement and pursuing higher quality standards, the Bacci Meccanica facility was expanded to house new and significant work centers for processing metal components and castings.

Given the importance of the American market, Bacci opens a technical and commercial branch in Charlotte (NC) for sales and technical support in the USA and Canada.

30 years after winning the first IWF Challengers Award in Atlanta, Bacci repeats the achievement with the MASTER PRO TRIPLE TABLE, which mills and sands the exterior profiles of kitchen doors. This exclusive CNC machine is the first to guarantee high productivity in "Batch One."

Paolino Bacci S.r.l. announces the creation of Bacci Automation through the acquisition of FA Robot S.r.l., a company specialized in industrial automation through the integration of anthropomorphic robots.

With production stabilizing at 200 work centers per year, the company invests in a second building of 4,500 square meters dedicated entirely to the assembly of its machines. The production process is organized according to lean manufacturing principles to ensure the highest product quality, predictable assembly times, and maximum safety for workers.

A few years after winning the second award, Bacci wins the prestigious IWF Challengers Award for a third time thanks to the revolutionary T4MO CNC: more than a lathe, it's a three-dimensional milling machine capable of rapidly and precisely shaping an endless number of applications with varying geometries, surpassing the traditional concept of turning.

Founded in 2022, Bacci Indonesia is Bacci’s first subsidiary in Southeast Asia. Located in Semarang, the heart of Indonesia's furniture production, the branch, with its team of local technicians and salespeople, offers support to numerous Indonesian clients on the island of Giava.

Bacci Vietnam is the newest branch of Bacci, founded in 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City to provide after-sales support to numerous Bacci clients across the country.

The facility features a showroom area where some of our work centers are always on display for demonstrations, training, and cutting tests on our clients' parts.

The diversification of products into new application sectors and the demand for increasingly customized and automated solutions requires additional production space dedicated to the assembly and testing of larger machines and automation systems.

This new facility, adjacent to all other locations, spans 3,000 square meters and includes a new company cafeteria and changing rooms. As of today, the company covers a total area of 12.000 square meters. 

Bacci is recognized as a global leader in the production of CNC work centers for woodworking, plastics, composites, and aluminum. Just as in the past, the company today continues to stand out for its ability to innovate through constant research into new applications and solutions. The machinery produced is increasingly high-performing and can be customized to meet specific needs.
