Bacci and Levaggi: Masters of the Chair.
The Chiavari chair is an extraordinary invention dating back to 1807: a design of remarkable modernity, clean and minimal, combined with a structure that is both lightweight and extremely robust. It is thanks to this perfect combination that Chiavari chairs have been a reference point for architects and designers around the world for over two centuries.
Today, F.lli Levaggi are among the most rigorous champions of this strictly artisanal tradition. A small yet remarkable company founded on “know-how,” that invaluable heritage to be preserved and passed on to younger generations. This is where Bacci technology comes into play. Since 2022, a 5-axis CNC portal machine has been present in the workshop, specifically designed to perform all the drilling operations required for chair assembly. A versatile and extremely precise machine, with a single worktable and very compact dimensions.
The collaboration between F.lli Levaggi and Bacci strengthens the bond both companies have with the world of chairs: since 1963 for the former, and since 1918 for the latter. “How far can one push the delicate balance between lightness and strength?” This question has obsessed generations of Chiavari craftsmen. Today, thanks in part to Bacci technology, Levaggi is able to push that boundary even further, embracing the challenge of the future: uncompromising quality, evolving lines and shapes, no semi-finished products, and production that represents the highest expression of quality and attention to detail.
